Can I use an IDP in my country of permanent residence?

An International Driving Permit (IDP) is designed exclusively for foreign travel. According to international conventions, you cannot use an IDP to drive a car in your country of permanent residence. In your home country, you must use your domestic driving license. An IDP does not replace your primary license and has no legal force where you permanently live.
